This Privacy Policy explains how Akaash AI ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Akaash AI Content Dashboard ("the Dashboard").

Akaash AI is a content management and social media dashboard operated from New Zealand. The Dashboard is a private internal tool used to manage, schedule, and analyse social media content across platforms including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

2.1 TikTok Account Data

When you connect your TikTok account via OAuth, we receive and temporarily store:

  • • Access tokens and refresh tokens (used to authenticate API requests)
  • • Your TikTok display name, profile picture, and bio
  • • Public account statistics (follower count, likes, video count)
  • • Your video metadata (titles, view counts, engagement metrics)
  • • TikTok Open ID and Union ID (anonymous identifiers)

2.2 Content You Upload

When you use the Dashboard to publish or schedule content, we process:

  • • Video files uploaded for posting to TikTok
  • • Post captions and scheduled publish times
  • • Selected target platforms and accounts

Video files are transmitted directly to the platform API and are not stored on our servers.

2.3 Usage Data

We may collect basic usage information such as pages visited and actions taken within the Dashboard for debugging and improvement purposes. This data is not shared with third parties.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

  • •Authenticate and maintain your connection to TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms
  • •Display your social media analytics and content performance data
  • •Schedule and publish content to your connected social media accounts
  • •Generate content insights and recommendations within the Dashboard

4. TikTok Data — Specific Disclosures

In accordance with TikTok's Developer Terms of Service, we disclose the following about how we handle TikTok user data:

  • •TikTok access tokens are stored securely in encrypted HTTP-only cookies and are never exposed to the browser or third parties.
  • •We only request TikTok permissions that are strictly necessary to provide the Dashboard's features (user info, video list, video upload, video publish).
  • •We do not share TikTok user data with any third parties.
  • •TikTok data is only accessed when you are actively using the Dashboard.
  • •You can revoke access at any time by disconnecting your TikTok account from the Dashboard or revoking access via TikTok's app settings.
  • •Upon disconnection, your TikTok access tokens are immediately deleted from our systems.

5. Data Storage & Security

The Dashboard is hosted on Railway (railway.app), a cloud platform with industry-standard security practices. Access tokens and session data are stored in encrypted cookies with HTTP-only and Secure flags. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.

We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide the service. Disconnecting an account immediately removes associated tokens from our systems.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is only shared with:

  • •TikTok — when you authenticate or publish content via their API
  • •Buffer — when you schedule posts via their API (governed by Buffer's Privacy Policy)
  • •Railway — our hosting provider, for infrastructure purposes only
  • •Law enforcement or regulators — only where required by applicable law

You have the right to:

  • •Access the personal data we hold about you
  • •Request correction of inaccurate data
  • •Request deletion of your data
  • •Withdraw consent and disconnect your social accounts at any time
